“FGF has changed how I feel about me. There are days when I just don’t have time to go, but those are the days I know I need it the most, and lately that means doing it at 6:30am. It is always so so worth it. It’s so much more than going to ‘a gym.’”
Office Manager for Occupational Health Solutions for 13 years.
I was convinced by a friend (Katie Swain) and my Mom (Dot, pictured above) to try a class. I signed up for an Unlimited membership on day one, and have been going 5 days a week ever since. Go big or go home, right?!?
I’m team FGF through and through. It’s the one time of day I have that’s just for me. A true therapy session at it’s finest. I turn off whatever is running through my head (whether it’s work drama, kid drama or life drama) and just sweat it out. The sweat just keeps coming! 💦
Shaving 10 minutes off my Bloomsday time, doing box jumps and finishing the Grind every day feel like pretty great accomplishments to me.
Finding my happy place, not necessarily with the number on the scale but how I feel head to toe.
Loud and with bass. 90’s rap, hip/hop, The Notorious B.I.G., Nelly, Dr. Dre, Tupac, Missy Elliott, Eminem.
Favorite: back squats, air squats, squats, squats, squats. My least favorite is not an exercise, but the “not for time” Grinds. I think I push myself more when it’s for time. I also have a love/hate relationship with rowing.
“F&#*@K I don’t wanna, I don’t wanna, I don’t wanna!” But I keep going. I know if I quit I’m only cheating myself, and by the end of it, the cursing {mostly} stops!
“It never gets easier, you just get better”
The amazing community of coaches and members. Everyone is super supportive. It’s not easy to try something you’ve never done before with people you don’t know, especially when you’re shy and have social anxiety. But THIS PLACE, THESE PEOPLE, put it all to rest in an instant!
All the women that join me for the 12:30pm class and most recently the 6:30am class inspire me to try to kick ass each day.

I’m a workaholic and full-time mom to 2 kids. This doesn’t leave much time for anything else. When the weather is nice I like to get outside with the kids, ride bikes, and see what I can get to grow in my backyard garden. Oh, and I’m an old school nerd who loves to roller-skate.
Anywhere there is water (ocean, beach, river, stream). I could walk up and down the beach for hours.
I’m pretty sure I wanted to be Madonna when I was a kid, I don’t think I knew what stage fright was back then.
I’m super sarcastic (once the shyness wears off and I know I can let my guard down).
I’m currently rooting for my son’s first basketball team. The team is made up of 5 & 6 year olds and they are adorable to watch. We try to watch the Zags when they’re on.
Oh, I don’t dance. Have you ever seen Elaine dance on Seinfeld?
The 4th of July. Fireworks are magical. When I was a kid in Minnesota we would lay blankets out at the stadium and watch the fireworks while they played Louis Armstrong’s “What A Wonderful World.”
Is there an animal that is really reserved in most situations, but has a big powerful personality to those it allows to get close? That would be me!
Chocolate, with a side of chocolate and wine. 🍫🍫🍷
I plan my meals around my workout. A pre-workout snack early enough to not feel like I’ll lose it mid-burpee, and a banana in the car post-workout every day.
Zoodles and spaghetti squash. I’m that person that posts food pics on Instagram all the time. You’re welcome to follow along @mary612911 #chefmary
